expensive and inflexible on-premises data centers to the AWS cloud.

 

Better Uptime And Security In The Cloud

Aspect needed to protect annual recurring revenue (ARR) by decreasing legacy customer attrition. A key challenge was the perceived operational risks of outage and security vulnerabilities due to dependencies on aging technologies running within customer data centers.

 

From Legacy To Cloud-native

Kickdrum refactored and re-architected aging application technologies deployed on-premises, and replaced them with modern cloud-native and cloud-compatible technologies, all running more securely inside of AWS.

Expensive, high-maintenance legacy technologies like Silverlight, Adobe Flex, and VB6 were retired and replaced with new applications that leverage modern web technologies as well as REST and web service API endpoints.

We leveraged AWS services like EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, Route 53, and AWS Secrets Manager to keep costs down and to avoid reinventing the wheel.

 

Keeping Customers Happy In The Cloud

Aspect’s customers are staying with them, and more and more are moving from expensive and inflexible on-premises infrastructure to the AWS cloud.

Customers that migrate are enjoying lower overall combined software and hardware costs.
